ZigSense wireless sensors use compact, high-performance FCC approved wireless OEM modules and radio modems manufactured by Digi International. These radios are using advanced Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum or spread Spectrum Frequency Hopping (DSSS or SSFH) technologies.
Digi products support point-to-point, point-to-multi-point, ZigBee mesh and DigiMesh networking technologies.

Digi International radio modules comply with Australia, New Zealand, USA and other world standards for communications using license free frequencies of 2.4 GHz (worldwide), 902MHz to 928MHz (USA), 915MHz to 928MHz (Australia) and 868MHz (Europe). Digi radios are well known for their reliability and excellent reception sensitivity.
Why does sensitivity matter? Digi research has shown that the average receiver sensitivity for radios in the wireless device market is a mere -93 dB. Digi radios, with receiver sensitivity at -102 dBm to -114 dBm, achieve up to 8 times the range of competing radios. Simply put, Digi allows integrators to cover more ground with fewer radios.
Range gained through Digi receiver sensitivity (other system variables held equal):
