The ZigSense central gateway model ZS24-CGU-001 is the ZigSense mesh network coordinator (or 'manager').
The gateway is designed to interface between two separate networks:
- A wireless network of ZigSense wireless nodes
- A wired network of external PLC, Data Logger, HMI or SCADA stations
A gateway communicates to external wires system over Modbus RTU serial protocol
The gateway contains three communications ports:
- COM1: Wireless ZigBee radio — interface to ZigSense sensors
- COM2: RS232 or RS485 port — Provides serial interface to devices using Modbus RTU protocol
- COM3: USB port — used for setting up the gateway and general network maintenance
The gateway is powered by external power source. An internal rechargeable lithium backup battery is built-in.
An operators' display panel provides the user / operator with basic network information and settings.
For advanced setup of multiple wireless nodes, setup of Modbus communicaitons and online monitoring of the entire network the operator should use the ZigSoft software package.
